چکیده
This paper presents the results from experimental study on actual behavior of header end-plate connections. To better understand hysteretic these connections in terms stiffness and strength, sixteen specimens were considered subjected to cyclic loads. The effect some parameters such as thickness end-plate, depth connection number bolt rows has been investigated by help tests finite element (FE) analyses. moment-rotation relations governed three as, initial stiffness, moment capacity rotation obtained. Results revealed that increases with increase connection. However, for equal depth, increasing not influenced remarkably.

Numerical and Experimental Study on Ratcheting Behavior of Plates with Circular Cutouts under Cyclic Axial Loading
In this paper, accumulation of plastic deformation of AISI 1045 steel plates with circular cutouts under cyclic axial loading is studied. Loading was applied under force-control conditions. Experimental tests were performed using a Zwick/Roell servo hydraulic machine. Under force-control loading with nonzero mean force, plastic strain was accumulated in continuous cycles called ratcheting. Nume...
متن کاملExperimental Study and Comparative Numerical Analysis of the Mechanical Behavior of Extended End-Plate Connections with End-Plate Stiffeners
To investigate the influence of end-plate stiffeners on the initial rotational stiffness of extended end-plate internal joints, an experimental program was carried out to investigate the rotational behavior of the joints. Two finite element methods (FEMs) were proposed using ABAQUS software. The stress distribution, plastic development, and deformation characteristics of extended end-plate join...
متن کاملNumerical and Experimental Study on Ratcheting Behavior of Steel Cylindrical Shells with/without Cutout Under Cyclic Combined and Axial Loading
Ratcheting behavior of steel 304L cylindrical shell under cyclic combined and axial loading are investigated in this paper, numerically. Cylindrical shells were fixed oblique at angle of 20° and normal with respect to the longitudinal direction of the shell and subjected to force-controlled cycling with non-zero mean force, which causes the accumulation of plastic deformation or ratcheting beha...
متن کاملOn the effect of grain size on rock behavior under cyclic loading by distinct element method
It is well-known that the mechanical behavior of rocks under cyclic loading is much different from static loading conditions. In most constructions, the load applied to structures is within dynamic ranges. That’s why a great deal of attention has been paid towards this field in order to identify the dynamic behavior of rocks in more details. Nevertheless, the nature of dynamic failure in rocks ...
متن کاملExperimental investigations on the softening and ratcheting behaviors of steel cylindrical shell under cyclic axial loading
In this research, softening and ratcheting behaviors of Ck20 alloy steel cylindrical shells were studied under displacement-control and force-control cyclic axial loading and the behavior of hysteresis curves of specimens was also investigated. Experimental tests were performed by a servo-hydraulic INSTRON 8802 machine. The mechanical properties of specimens were determined according to ASTM E8...
